Verizon Fios provider rating and review
By our analysis, Verizon Fios internet plans grade out as one of the best in the country — just behind AT&T’s fiber plans. Verizon Fios has no hidden fees, no annual contracts, no extra charges for equipment and your price is guaranteed for four years with a Fios 1 Gig or 2 Gig plan.
But unlike a lot of providers, with Verizon Fios you won’t have to pay a fortune for that speed. Prices for internet-only plans start at $59.99/mo., and your price is guaranteed for two years. It’s that combination of affordability and performance that earned Verizon home internet plans a 77 out of 100 in 2024’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
What we like about Verizon internet

Simple pricing – There are no surprise fees on your monthly bill with Verizon
-
No data limits* – Verizon Fios has no data caps, so you won’t experience any overage fees
-
No annual contracts – With Fios internet, you don’t need to worry about long-term commitments and early termination fees
Things to consider
-
Availability – If you don’t live in Verizon Fios’s coverage area, you’re out of luck
*Fios consumer data usage is subject to the usage restrictions set forth in Verizon’s terms of service (www.verizon.com/about/terms-conditions/verizon-customer-agreement).

How we scored internet providers
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of 1 to 5, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 180 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between 3 and 4. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 500 Mbps plan got a 3.71.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.

Add Verizon TV to internet plans
Verizon also offers TV and internet bundles. You can mix and match the best combination of services.
Fios TV offers a wide variety of packages ranging from 125 – 425 channels, starting at $85/mo. w/ Auto Pay + taxes & equip. charges. You won’t need to worry about contracts or termination fees.
One unique perk of Verizon’s TV plans is that you can test drive the 425+ channel package for the lowest price for two months to decide which package is right for you.
Additionally, Verizon has partnered with YouTube TV to add the live TV streaming service to your internet plan.

Shop Verizon Fios internet plans
Verizon Fios offers fast fiber internet at reasonable prices for the speed.
Verizon Fios Wi-Fi equipment and fees
For Fios, the $99 setup charge is waived for online Fios 1 Gig and 2 Gig orders (the other plans are assessed a $99 charge).
There are also no data limits** on any Verizon Fios plans, so you won’t have to worry about how much you’re gaming, streaming and downloading.*
You can save money by signing up for a Verizon internet plan if you are a Verizon mobile customer. A 300 Mbps internet plan is discounted to $34.99/mo. w/ Auto Pay & any Verizon mobile plan.
Verizon Fios also doesn’t have any contracts, so you can leave any time without racking up early termination fees.
*Consumer data usage is subject to the usage restrictions set forth in Verizon’s terms of service; visit: www.verizon.com/support/customer-agreement for more information about 5G Home and LTE Home Internet or www.verizon.com/about/terms-conditions/verizon-customer-agreement for Fios internet. **Fios consumer data usage is subject to the usage restrictions set forth in Verizon’s terms of service (www.verizon.com/about/terms-conditions/verizon-customer-agreement). Updated as of 07/10/25.
Verizon Fios doesn’t require you to use their equipment
Although your router is now included with your Fios plan, you may want to consider purchasing your own Verizon-compatible router (typically $100 to $200). The benefit is you get to pick your speeds and features like parental controls and VPNs. If you do choose your own router, just make sure it can handle the speeds you’re getting with your Fios plan, and keep in mind that you are essentially paying for a router twice since part of the monthly plan price includes a rental fee for Verizon’s equipment.

Because its prices don’t go up after the first year, you’ll almost always end up paying less for Verizon internet in the long run and you’ll typically get faster speeds. Verizon also scored well in our ratings due to its high marks in customer service and the lack of equipment or installation fees.

Speeds of 300 Mbps can also support online gaming (Google Stadia recommends at least 10 Mbps) and streaming in 4K (FCC recommends at least 25 Mbps). Keep in mind, however, that using Wi-Fi and connecting multiple broadband-hungry devices to your network will slow your speeds, so you may want to consider a faster plan for a more seamless gaming and streaming experience.

Offering double the speed than the lower plan for only $34/mo. more, the Fios 500 plan delivers ample speed for the price. If you’ll be using your Wi-Fi connection throughout your home, consider the Fios Router and Wi-Fi extenders for a strong, wall-to-wall connection.

Starting at $89.99/mo., Verizon’s up to 940/880 plan is one of the more affordable Gigabit plans out there. Gigabit speeds may be faster than the average household needs, but serious gamers and telecommuters who need a fast, reliable connection will definitely appreciate the added speed.
