Verizon Fios speed test
Check your Verizon Fios speeds for free and discover ways to boost your internet speeds.

Test your Verizon Fios internet speeds
A speed test is the best way to see what download and upload speeds you are getting from your provider. The speed test below will test speeds from any provider, including Verizon Fios. Try checking your connection a few times throughout the day to see if your results change at peak usage times.
Take the test, compare your results and see what you can do to get faster internet speeds. And if you find that you need a faster plan, we can help with that, too.
How to use the Verizon Fios speed test
Click “Start” below to begin the speed test. The test will first measure “ping,” or how long it takes to establish a connection with the server. Then the test will receive a small bit of data to measure your download speed. Lastly, the test will send a small bit of data to measure your upload speed.
Tips for getting accurate Verizon speed test results
Before starting your test, there are a few steps you’ll want to take to ensure it is accurate. These steps are not necessary to take the test.
- Connect your computer directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable. If your internet plan advertises speeds above 100 Mbps, use a Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7 Ethernet cable for the best results.
- Disconnect any other devices that use the internet. This includes any device that may be connected to your Wi-Fi network, such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, Wi-Fi enabled cameras, etc. These devices can use up bandwidth and interfere with your test results, even if you aren’t actively using them.
- Close any apps or webpages on your computer that may be using up bandwidth, such as video and music streaming apps or sites.
