Something to keep in mind as you compare providers is that AT&T’s fiber plans don’t have any equipment fees, annual contracts or price increases.

AT&T provides the gateway when you set up internet in your home. If you cancel your internet service, you’ll have to return your Wi-Fi gateway to AT&T. There are options to purchase your own router if you’d prefer.

Equipment rental fees can run from $5 to $15 or more monthly from other providers. For comparison, Xfinity charges $15 and Spectrum $5.

If you are a heavy internet user in a house full of other heavy users, a perk of the AT&T Fiber 1000 service is that there isn’t a data cap on any of AT&T’s fiber plans.
