Xfinity uses a cable or cable/fiber hybrid network to deliver internet service. AT&T uses a DSL or 100% fiber-optic network, and the service type you are eligible for depends on your location.

AT&T and Xfinity internet services can come with data caps, but both providers have unlimited data options. AT&T includes unlimited data with select bundles and with their AT&T Internet 1000 plan. You can also add unlimited data with AT&T or Xfinity internet plans for an added monthly fee.

AT&T internet plans do not come with contract agreements, although promotional pricing may expire after a specified period. Xfinity internet subscribers must sign a one-year contract with new service. You’ll be charged an early termination fee unless you cancel within the first 30 days of service. The termination fee will be prorated based on the internet plan you choose.
