AT&T joined the 5G home internet business with Internet Air. It’ll cost $47/mo. with an AT&T mobile phone account or $60/mo. without. Speeds go up to 300 Mbps.

About AT&T Air Internet

AT&T offers fiber internet and now 5G home internet, also called fixed wireless. That means your signal depends on your proximity to a 5G cell tower. Download speeds run up to 300 Mbps without contracts or equipment fees. The plan runs $60/mo. without an AT&T mobile plan, but you can save 20% off your internet plan if you bundle the two services. AT&T also promises not to raise your monthly fee after 12 months.

AT&T’s fixed wireless internet service is only available to about .6% of the country. States with the most availability include California, Texas, Michigan, Kansas, Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee.

Competitors T-Mobile 5G Home Internet covers 57% of the U.S., and Verizon’s 5G service is available to about 20% of the country. You may have the choice of one of the three in parts of Kansas and California, but most likely, you will only have the choice between T-Mobile and Verizon if you have 5G home internet.
