Spectrum is an internet service provider which also offers cellphone service. You must have a Spectrum internet plan in order to take advantage of the service, however.

Plans start at $29.99/mo. per line, can be combined with internet and Wi-Fi with Spectrum One at $49.99/mo. or customers can add a monthly plan by the gig. To get that price though, you also need to use Autopay.

Spectrum partners with Verizon to provide its customers with fast LTE speeds, while offering decent pricing when paired with Spectrum One, their home internet and mobile service combination. 

Spectrum Mobile™ family plans

Spectrum Mobile™ offers some combination plans for family plans. You can buy a plan that is $14/mo. by the gig, starting with 1 gig. You can also share 2 gigs between two lines for $28/mo. or go the unlimited route for $29.99/mo. and add up to 10 lines at $10/mo. per line. You can also mix and match these lines, if you’d like one line unlimited and another by the gig, that’s doable with Spectrum.

When you sign up for Spectrum One, you can pick your internet speed plan, starting up to 300 Mbps, and get Advanced WiFi and one unlimited mobile line free for 12 months. Prices run $49.99/mo. to $89.99/mo., depending on your chosen plan.

Spectrum Mobile™ vs. other mobile providers

Spectrum Mobile pricing are nearly identical to Xfinity’s mobile plans. Optimum is a bit lower than either of them and allows non-internet customers to purchase a mobile plan.

Spectrum Mobile™ coverage

Spectrum and Verizon share a 4G LTE network, and you’d think that would mean exactly the same coverage areas, but they aren’t duplicates.

Spectrum’s current 5G coverage is limited to bigger metro areas throughout California, as well as Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, the Maryland/DC beltway area, Philadelphia, New York, New Orleans and more.

Spectrum Mobile’s 4G LTE service is available in most of the country, with dead spots mainly in some Western states like Idaho, Nevada, Utah and New Mexico. You are required to have Spectrum internet in order to have a mobile plan with them, so check first to make sure you are serviceable for that.

If you need internet service and Spectrum is available in your area, it makes sense to take advantage of the Spectrum One deal to get a mobile line for free. You’ll have solid coverage across the country for the most part, as well as free access to 5G when it’s available and Spectrum’s half a million hot spots throughout the U.S.
