Xfinity internet plans by region
Xfinity serves areas of 40 states, making it the largest available cable internet company. Xfinity plans and prices differ based on the service region you reside in. If you live in Pennsylvania, for example, you will be in Xfinity's Northeastern service region, which will have different prices than Alabama in Xfinity's Southern service region. Furthermore, contract requirements can differ by region, meaning opting for no contract in one region may come with a price increase you wouldn’t see in another.
Pricing isn’t completely random, however, as Xfinity groups its plans into three regions of the country: the West, Central and Northeast. But no matter where you live, you can expect your monthly bill to go up by $15 to $49 after the first year. In some cases, the discount lasts for two years, and then increases dramatically in the third.
Xfinity's 5-Year Price Guarantee*
New customers can take advantage of the 5-Year Price Guarantee*, which secures their price for that time and includes internet equipment and unlimited internet data for the deal term.
The deal is good until June 26, 2025 and is for new residential customers only. Advanced Wi-Fi equipment and unlimited data are included for five years, and the price includes $10 autopay and a paperless discount. Customers can also get an Xfinity Mobile Unlimited plan included for one year.
Plan | Speed | 5-Year Price |
---|---|---|
Connect More | 400 Mbps | $55.00/mo. |
Fast | 600 Mbps | $70.00/mo. |
Gigabit | 1,100 Mbps | $85.00/mo. |
Gigabit X2 | 2,100 Mbps | $105.00/mo. |
*Eligible customers will have access to the new 5-Year Price Guarantee deal, which applies to internet, internet equipment, and unlimited data only. The 5-Year Price Guarantee does not apply to Xfinity Mobile service or any additional services the customer adds. Customers have the option of an alternative 1-Year Price Guarantee for $40/mo. This locks in Internet pricing for the duration of 12 months. Offer good until June 2025.

Xfinity Internet service scored a 3.93 on a scale of 1 to 5 across four major categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Xfinity received over 4 stars for performance and customer satisfaction. To learn more, read Allconnect’s review methodology.
As a provider that deals primarily in cable internet, Xfinity usually won’t get you speeds as fast as fiber internet, but they’re still much higher than DSL or satellite. Xfinity does offer 3,000 or 6,000 Mbps plans, but they are not available to all customers.
In general, Xfinity’s internet plans provide all the speed you’ll probably need at competitive prices. You’ll have to deal with rate increases after 12 or 24 months, but that’s common among ISPs. Xfinity offers seven plans to choose from no matter where you live, so chances are good you’ll be able to find something that fits your needs.
With more than 31 million broadband subscribers in 40 states, Xfinity is the largest internet provider in the U.S. But that popularity doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best around — it’s often just the most available. Xfinity scored around average in every category of our evaluation.

Our methodology
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of one to five, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 180 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between three and four. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 500 Mbps plan got a 3.71.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.

Xfinity Wi-Fi equipment and fees
Xfinity stands out among internet providers when it comes to its home Wi-Fi equipment, phone app and mobile hotspots. Here's what's available to Xfinity internet customers.
- Equipment fees: The xFi Gateway is $15/mo., or free in select regions for the first 24 months. The elite Wi-Fi service, including a modem, router, security and Wi-Fi extenders costs $20/mo.
- Installation fees: $100 for pro installation or free for self-installation. For self-installation, Xfinity sends you a Getting Started kit and you set up service on your own using the Xfinity app. In some locations, the self-install kit will cost $15
- Data caps: 1.2 TB/mo. with unlimited available. Data caps can vary by location, but 1.2 TB is a lot of data, much more than the average household will need
- Contracts: Different term agreements apply depending on the plan you choose. Up to 150 Mbps plans have one-year agreements, the 300 to 1,200 Mbps plans have no agreements and there are two-year agreements for the 2,000 to 6,000 Mbps plans

Xfinity customer reviews
The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) scored Xfinity internet 75/100 in 2024 for their fiber service, behind Verizon, Google and AT&T. Their ranking against non-fiber providers was middle of the pack at 67/100.
While these scores aren’t amazing, Xfinity does have a reputation for being more flexible about the deals they offer to existing customers than other providers. If you have an issue with your bill or service, there’s a decent chance that a phone call to Xfinity’s customer service can solve the issue.
In our customer satisfaction survey, Xfinity customers appreciated the speed and reliability of their service. Read more Xfinity customer reviews below.
Spotty internet service and the 500 Mbps plan buffers often.
2/5
The cable connection is good and reliable. However, customer service is lacking. You have to jump through hoops just to get a human being to respond to a computer chat. Once you get through, the agents are helpful, but it takes great patience.
4/5
Quick, easy enrollment, setup and over doubled our previous speed for the same cost.
