Xfinity cable TV packages and deals

Xfinity’s TV packages, channel lineups and pricing will vary by location. For example, residents of Miami, FL are likely to have a whole set of different package options compared to residents of Salt Lake City, UT.

Comcast Xfinity TV channel packages

We’ve listed some common Xfinity TV packages below to give you an idea of package pricing and channel counts that may be available in your area.

Xfinity TV packages, pricing and channel counts are somewhat random from one region to another. In the packages listed above, those with pricing ending in “.99” are likely to be available in one region while those ending in “.00” will be in another.

We understand that ultimately it’s the packages that are available in your area that are most important to you. Click below to shop Xfinity TV services specific to your area, or call to speak with our TV experts about available plans for your address.

Why choose Xfinity TV?

Xfinity is the largest cable TV provider in the nation, available to more than a third of U.S. households. With such a wide coverage area, specific Xfinity TV-only and bundle packages, channels and special offers will often vary by location.

Xfinity TV has a lot to offer, from basic cable services with numerous add-on options to DVR service and streaming capabilities, but it may not be for everyone. To help you decide if the service is right for you, we’ve listed package, pricing and equipment details below along with our expert analysis of how it all compares to other providers.

What we like

  • Package and add-on options – Xfinity has four to five TV plans, including a low-cost “basic” plan available in most areas and lots of add-on package options
  • Cable box options – If you don’t need DVR or HD, cheaper TV boxes are available, or you can use your own compatible equipment for free
  • Bundle bonuses – Select TV and internet bundles come with extra perks such as free Netflix or premium channel subscriptions
  • Free self-install – The free self-install eliminates upfront costs and time spent waiting on a technician

Things to consider

  • Xfinity internet is required for the X1 DVR – The X1 DVR is one of the more advanced DVRs available, but you’ll have to also be an Xfinity internet customer to get it
  • Bundling can be confusing – Adding internet can change TV package options and channel lineups, and any bundle incentives vary widely by package
  • Added fees – If you want HD programming and DVR service, you could be looking at an additional $20-$30/mo. or more in fees

Choosing the right Xfinity TV package

Which Xfinity TV packages give you the entertainment you want, without paying for channels and features you don’t need? Take a look at our Xfinity TV package recommendations below to find the right package for your home.

Xfinity TV equipment and the X1 DVR

Available with select Xfinity TV packages, the Xfinity X1 cable box gives you full control to find, watch and record your favorite shows.

X1 DVR capabilities:

  • Find shows, change channels with the Xfinity Voice Remote
  • Record up to six shows at once
  • Store up to 500 GB of content
  • Access popular streaming services, such as Netflix and Pandora, straight from the device
  • Watch live and on-demand TV at home and on the go with the Xfinity Stream app
  • Download shows to your mobile device with the Xfinity Stream app and watch offline

If you don’t bundle Xfinity TV and internet, you can still get DVR service, but it will come with less functionality than the X1 DVR. Or, if you don’t need DVR service, go with a standard TV box or HD receiver. Xfinity is also one of the few TV providers to allow you to use your own compatible TV equipment.

Xfinity equipment fees

You’ll probably want to add TV equipment with your Xfinity service, and it will likely increase your monthly bill per TV.

X1 DVR fees

  • First TV – $5/mo.
  • Additional TVs – $9.95/mo. each

Receiver fees without X1

  • DVR device – $15/mo.
  • Additional receivers – $5/mo. each

Depending on which devices you choose, Xfinity may also hit you with a $9.95/mo. “HD Technology Fee.” Customers are most likely to encounter this fee when they opt for HD receivers that aren’t the X1, as Xfinity often waives the fee when you choose the X1 DVR.

Streaming on Xfinity Flex and the Xfinity Stream app

Xfinity Flex

Xfinity Flex is a streaming hub available to all Xfinity internet customers, even if you don’t have or need Xfinity TV service.

Xfinity Flex comes with its own streaming device. Plug it into your TV’s HDMI port for access to popular streaming apps such as NBC’s Peacock, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube, all in one place.

Xfinity Flex features:

  • Stream 10,000+ on-demand movies and TV shows
  • Find titles and search by category with the Xfinity Voice Remote
  • Stream in 4K resolution
  • Rent or purchase movies

Xfinity Stream App

The Xfinity Stream App connects you to all the channels that come with your TV package on your mobile devices while at home. Many channels are also available while on the go.

You’ll also have access to the Xfinity on demand library, which offers thousands of shows available whenever and wherever you want to watch.

Download the Xfinity Stream App for free on your iOS or Android device.

Xfinity cable add-on packs

Xfinity has an impressive lineup of add-on packages compared to other providers. You’ll find premium channels and the major sports packs such as MLB Extra Innings and NBA League Pass available, as well as lots of on-demand packages and international networks.
