What is Spectrum Internet Ultra?

Spectrum Internet Ultra is Spectrum’s mid-level plan available in nearly all Spectrum service areas, offering a significant speed upgrade from their standard internet plan, Spectrum Internet. While not as fast as Spectrum Internet Gig, Spectrum Internet Ultra gives users double the download speed or higher than they’d get with Spectrum Internet.

Spectrum Internet Ultra has max advertised download speeds of 500 Mbps with upload speeds up to 20 Mbps. In select locations, 300 Mbps* will be the max available download speed, but most Spectrum serviceable areas will have access to the 500 Mbps* speed tier.

Spectrum Internet Ultra availability

As one of the three largest internet providers in the country, you can get the Spectrum Internet Ultra plan in many cities and suburbs. Spectrum has the most coverage in the Northeast, Midwest and South regions, but you can also find it in some West Coast cities like Portland and Los Angeles.

How is Spectrum Internet Ultra different than other Spectrum plans?

Spectrum has three plans, and Internet Ultra falls right in the middle. You’ll get faster speeds than its cheapest plan, but still significantly less than its Gig plan. No matter which plan you choose, you’ll get unlimited data and your price will go up in year two.

With no data caps and no contracts, Spectrum is an attractive option. Its low equipment and installation fees put it at the forefront as a solid ISP choice.

  • Equipment: Spectrum charges $5/mo. for router rental and the modem is free. Keep in mind most providers charge around $10-15/mo. for that equipment. You also have the option of purchasing your own Spectrum-compatible modem and router.
  • Installation: You’ll pay up to $24.99 for self-installation or if professional installation is required, you’ll pay up to $49.99 for it.
