How to move your Cox services to another address

If you’re moving to another address within Cox’s service area, you can simply take your plan with you. To set up the transfer, enter your address on Cox’s website to make sure the company services your new address. From there, you can review or make changes to your plan and schedule your service transfer. You can install your equipment in your new home yourself, or a technician can install it for you.

Ways to cancel Cox internet & TV service

Are you eligible to cancel your Cox service?

When you sign up for Cox internet, you enter into a 24-month contract. If you cancel your contract before it ends, you’ll pay an early termination fee, as well as a prorated amount of your final bill. The early termination fee begins at $240 and is reduced by $10/mo.

Canceling online

Though Cox does have an online chat feature for customers, the company is currently unable to complete service disconnect or cancellations online.

Canceling over the phone

To cancel your internet plan over the phone, call Cox customer service at (866) 218-5739. The customer service representative will cancel your service and give you instructions for returning your equipment.

Canceling in person

You can cancel your Cox internet plan in person by visiting one of 130 retail stores. If you cancel in person, be sure to bring your equipment with you so the company can complete your cancellation right away.

Pausing Cox service

Cox allows customers to pause services for up to nine months using the company’s Cox Seasonal Program. You’ll still pay a monthly fee to keep your equipment, but you won’t pay your full bill while your service is paused. To pause your service, just call (866) 936-7123.

Remember to return your equipment

When you cancel your Cox internet plan, you’ll have to return your equipment within 10 days to avoid unreturned equipment fees. To return your equipment, you can either visit a Cox Solutions Store or drop your equipment off at a nearby UPS Store.
