What do Cox customers think?
Cox is a cable internet provider. Cox customers rate the provider above average in the price, speed and reliability categories. Cox has internet speeds from 100 – 2,000 Mbps, but prices are a bit higher than other providers unless you add a Cox mobile line to your plan, which saves you $25/mo.

The service is fine. No complaints, except that they didn’t offer to let us install the router ourselves. They sent two men to plug it in and connect it to the tv and charged us $100 for installation.

Cox Communications is too big to care. I was offered unlimited data with the 1gig fiber plan by an agent via chat. I screen shot and took the photo to a Cox store to apply to my account. The manager said they cannot offer it because it’s not available in my area. How is unlimited data not available? He said it’s not an option…

He said it’s not an option to add to my plan and cannot honor what the agent said would be honored. Cox. Too big to care.

More costly than in Oregon. Have to have their combo modem router preventing me from using my own much better router. The only way around it is to purchase my own separate modem. But doing that also prevents Cox support, which is only included if I use their modem/router combo

Had many attempts to get a reoccurring fix on internet cutting out on fixed intervals, just to be lied to and given the most airheaded customer support I think I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Reliability has been ok, but system was down already 4 times in 3 months, had to call support twice, they always charge us 100 for each appointment… and they use subcontractors.

Scheduled installation appt and took time off work for nobody to show up. They changed my installation to a self install. Which didn’t work so then I had to schedule another appt with a tech. I then had to pay $100 for “professional” installation because they had to come out with their special tools to turn something on in their utility box on the street. I’m getting 1GB speed for $55 more than what I was paying for AT&T fiber 1GB at my previous address. The cherry on top? We have had a Wi-Fi outage almost every week we have lived at our new place and just about every time there’s a thunderstorm. But we’ve heard AT&T fiber should be arriving in our neighborhood soon. We will definitely be switching when it’s available.

Poor service, poor company. Required to pay 100% of days when you don’t even receive service for 100% of days in a billing period.

I am a Verizon fan. I wish I could have Verizon internet in my area but it is not available yet. Zip code 23332. This is a large city Chesapeake, Virginia, so I don’t understand why.

Cox is basically the only provider in this area. I had Cox before moving here and paid $40 a month less. I guess when you’re the only service you can jack up the price and give so so service.

The price of Cox communications compared to other Internet services in Omaha is exorbitant. I’m only using Cox because the other options in my area do not provide the speed that they do. When the speed and other providers improves, I will be leaving Cox.
