Over 30 million homes are now eligible to use the T-Mobile Home Internet service, launched in early April, after running a pilot program across the country.
At $50/mo. it falls into the average price range for what most Americans pay for internet service.
The one-plan, one-rate program claims no price hikes, no annual fees and no equipment costs. Customers can expect average speeds of 100 Mbps with unlimited data and no caps. That speed will allow users to do nearly anything online, from live gaming to taking that important Zoom call.
A perk of the plan is that T-Mobile ships customers a plug-and-play 4G/5G gateway. Users can download an app and follow the easy-to-use instructions to be online in a short amount of time.
Customers can do an address check at T-Mobile to see if the service is available in their area.
With the launch of the new service, T-Mobile also made a commitment to bring 5G to rural America by hiring 7,500 employees in small towns and rural areas, as well as giving $25 million in grants for community projects.
“This is the moment we’ve been working toward since we shared our vision for a faster, more inclusive future — a vision we called 5G for All — when we announced our plans to merge with Sprint three years ago,” said Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile.
If you are thinking of switching providers or moving to a new home, checking available ISPs can save you money.
