Viasat is available to nearly 98% of the U.S., so you most likely will be able to bring your plan with you. About one week before you move, simply call Viasat customer care at (855) 463-9333 to let them know about the move and set up a contract for your new home. You’ll have to pay a new 24-month contract for your new address.

Canceling your Viasat service

If you’re unhappy with your Viasat service or are moving out of the company’s service area, you can cancel your plan by contacting the company directly over the phone.

Are you eligible to cancel your Viasat service?

You can cancel your Viasat plan at any time. Unfortunately, you’ll be charged an early termination fee if you cancel before your 24-month contract has ended. Viasat charges a fee of $15 for each month remaining on your plan.

Viasat doesn’t currently allow customers to cancel online. Instead, you’ll have to call the company and speak to a customer service representative.

Canceling your Viasat service over the phone

To cancel your service over the phone, call Viasat’s customer service department at (855) 463-9333. Explain that you want to cancel your service and they’ll take care of it immediately.

Canceling your Viasat service in person

Viasat doesn’t currently allow customers to cancel in person. Instead, you’ll have to call the company and speak to a customer service representative.

Pausing Viasat service

Like many providers, Viasat allows its customers to play a temporary hold on their plans. In the case of Viasat, it’s known as a Hibernation Plan. Using this plan, you can suspend your service for a period of two to six months in any 12-month period. You’ll still be charged a monthly fee of $9.99/mo. while on the Hibernation Plan, as well as any equipment lease fees but won’t be charged your full bill amount.

How to return your Viasat equipment

When you cancel your Viasat service, be sure to return your equipment in a timely manner so you aren’t stuck with fees. When you call to disconnect your service, the customer service representative will provide instructions for how to return your equipment. Either UPS will deliver an equipment recovery box with instructions for you, or you’ll receive a letter from UPS with instructions to take your equipment to a nearby UPS store, where they’ll package and mail it for you.
