About Grande Communications

The price to speed point for Grande Communications is very competitive for the market. It’s common for base plans to start in the $50/mo. range, so that puts Grande Communications base plans much lower. You also have a wide range of speeds that support different types of internet use, from surfing and streaming to internet that supports a whole connected home. A huge perk of this service is that the plans come with no contracts.

This plan gets you some high speeds for your major entertainment needs at a price that puts it lower than many base plans through other providers.   

Grande Communications contracts, equipment and fees

As good as Grande Communications plans are, all internet service providers have fees and equipment requirements. We’ll review some major considerations below. 

Grande contracts  

Grande Communications does not have contracts, which is a perk if you find you need to switch services due to a move or another reason. That being said, the promo offers are good for a 12-month period with e-bill and autopay.

Grande Communications equipment

The equipment provided by Grande remains the provider’s property unless you outright purchase the equipment. You have to return the equipment if not purchased. Grande Communications has monthly rental fees for a wide variety of equipment that supports its services. Examples include the enhanced whole-home Wi-Fi systems for $5/mo., the Nighthawk Pro Gaming Router for $5/mo., the standard Wi-Fi and Modem for $13.99/mo. and the Standard Wi-Fi and Gig Modem for $5.99/mo.

Grande Communications bundling or TV service

One of the promos currently listed on Grande Communications plans is that you can add free TiVo Stream 4K for 12 months. Grande also has an option where you can add 40+ local broadcast and digital TV channels on the basic plan. The preferred plan allows 220+ channels and the premier plan is 290+ channels. Grande Communications FAQs

Is Grande a good cable company?

Grande has an A rating through the Better Business Bureau.

The site lists that you can, in fact, bring your own modem. It recommends that you have a DOCSIS 3.0 for speeds up to and including 300Mbps and a DOCSIS 3.1 for speeds at 600 Mbps or higher. You’ll also need 24 downstream channels for up to and including 300 Mbps and 32 downstream channels for 600 Mbps or higher.

Grande recommends 300 Mbps for surfing and streaming video and music, 600 Mbps for all entertainment coverage and 940 Mbps for a fully connected home. The 50 Mbps plans are usually acceptable for basic internet use like surfing and streaming.

Grande runs on a fiber optic network. There is also Grande Wi-Fi for the whole home.
