Quantum Fiber internet plan comparison
- Quantum Fiber has a few speed tiers available, up to 8,000 Mbps depending on where you live
Quantum Fiber’s fastest 8,000 Mbps plan is great for larger households with multiple devices simultaneously streaming, gaming and working from home. However, availability is limited. The 500 and 940 Mbps plans are the most common and suitable for high-bandwidth users.
Quantum Fiber offers a Price for Life (see offer details below) that keeps your internet plan price the same as long as you stick to your same plan, and don’t make changes, move or disconnect service.

How we scored internet providers
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of 1 to 5, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 290 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between 3 and 4. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 500 Mbps plan got a 3.71.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.
Although our fiber service usually means 100% fiber-optic network to your location, in limited circumstances Quantum Fiber may need to deploy alternative technologies coupled with a non-fiber connection from a certain point (usually the curb) to your location in order to provide the advertised download speeds.
Customer speed experiences will vary, particularly when accessing the Internet wirelessly from various devices. Download/upload speed via a wired connection. Internet speeds are not guaranteed due to conditions outside of network control, including customer location, devices, equipment, and access through a wired or wireless connection; see q.com/legal for more information.
Limited availability. Service and rate in select locations only. Price for Life: Offer available to new and existing customers located in qualifying markets and cannot be combined with other promotions or offers. Offer not available with Instant Internet service, Instant 360 WiFi service, or at bulk service properties. Limited time offer. Customer must remain in good standing and Price for Life offer terminates if customer cancels or changes their internet plan or account in any manner, including change of address (even if plan is available), change to internet service or speed, and service suspension (including Pause Program or non-payment) or disconnection. Other than internet services covered by Price for Life offer, your monthly rates for any other services, leased equipment, taxes, or fees are not guaranteed and may increase during the time of your service. Offer may terminate upon network technology changes or upgrades. Paperless billing required. Month-to-month (referred to as “no contract”) service means no term commitment and may be cancelled at any time without an early termination fee but customer must accept Internet Subscriber Agreement prior to using service (see q.com/legal ). Wireless Service: 360 WiFi is included with the internet service at no monthly charge for an initial period, but is excluded from the Price for Life offer and the monthly lease charge may be increased with prior notice. The number of pods provided (up to 4 pods max.) will be determined by technician during technician installation. Security features will not work if customer does not plug pods in or plugs devices directly into modem. Installation: Offer includes technician installation at customer’s eligible location. Construction: For certain, new Internet installations, construction charges may apply (“Construction Charges”). Quantum Fiber will absorb the first $1,500 of the Construction Charges; customer will be responsible for Construction Charges to the extent they exceed $1,500, usually no more than an additional $2,000. Customer will be contacted prior to install for approval to proceed with order if Construction Charges apply. See q.com/legal for taxes and fees. Additional restrictions may apply. Prepayment: Service will begin on the date your order is completed and full payment is processed through your choice of debit card, credit card, or other prepay service available with your subscription. Each month following, a recurring e-commerce transaction for your service will be processed as service automatically renews monthly until cancelled by customer.

Quantum Fiber Wi-Fi equipment and fees
Professional installation is included with your purchase of a Quantum Fiber plan if you’re located in its availability footprint. If your location doesn’t have fiber cables installed yet, construction charges may apply, but don’t worry — Quantum Fiber will cover up to $1,500 of these charges and it’s unlikely to cost more than that.
Quantum Fiber’s 360 WiFi is included with your internet service for an “initial period,” and additional pods are $10/mo.

Quantum Fiber internet vs. top competitors
Compared to other fiber optic plans like Xfinity Gigabit Pro, Quantum Fiber is definitely more affordable. On the downside, its multi-gigabit plans have extremely limited availability compared to some competitors.
Providers like Frontier, AT&T and Xfinity offer gigabit and multi-gigabit plans that, while pricey, offers customers more options than Quantum Fiber. Nevertheless, Quantum Fiber has competitive pricing and its gig plan offers more than enough speed for most households.

Quantum Fiber customer reviews
Quantum Fiber has affordable fiber plans with great speeds and no contracts or data caps. While other providers offer more availability, Quantum Fiber’s 500 and 940 Mbps plans have more than enough speed to satisfy a large household with multiple streamers and gamers.
Although its availability is somewhat limited, it’s still a great choice if you are located in its service area. Quantum Fiber received around a 3/5 star rating from customers who participated in Allconnect’s 2024 broadband customer satisfaction survey.
I have had more than half a dozen appointments over two weeks, but they have not kept one so far. It’s so frustrating when they just change the date and time of appointments at will. It isn’t an appointment if it cannot be kept. Very disappointing service.
4/5
Quantum is fast, reliable and doesn’t get in your way.
5/5
Service goes in and out.
