The start of the new year will bring steeper internet and/or TV prices for DIRECTV and Xfinity customers. Here’s what you need to know:
DIRECTV price increase
Customers who have satellite TV through DIRECTV saw price increases starting on Jan. 19, 2020. All DIRECTV packages — except the Minimum service, FAMILY and ChineseDirect Plus — will see a $1/mo. to $8/mo. price increase. This is the second price increase for DIRECTV services within the last 12 months.

AT&T raised prices for DIRECTV plans in January 2019. Since the last price increase, it continued to lose customers with AT&T sharing that 1.3 million customers left in Q3 of this year.
Xfinity internet, TV and phone price increases
Some Xfinity internet, TV and/or phone customers will start seeing a price increase as of Dec. 18, 2020 that will be rolled out nationally through January 2020. These price increases include a jump from $10/mo. to $14.95/mo. for the broadcast TV fee, a $3 increase on almost all of the internet plans (the Gigabit Pro being the exception) as well as increases on equipment rental and other fees.
