Optimum is a cable and fiber internet provider. Optimum has lower customer satisfaction scores than most of the top ISPs in our survey, but it offers high-speed fiber plans up to 5,000 Mbps and cable plans up to 1,000. Optimum is also one of the more affordable providers, with its cable and fiber plans starting at $40/mo.

Optimum was easy to schedule for hookup. Technician was on time and knowledgeable. He took his time to ensure the modem was placed where we wanted it. Optimum noticed a service issue before we did and the Service tech was polite, informative and went above to ensure our service was not interrupted long and would last for the long haul. We are very satisifed.

When using Zoom there will be at least two occasions of freeze up during a one hour meeting. Some pixelation when watching streaming service.

Optimum is a company which does not care about customer service. They need to hire more tech to repair issues after a big storm like we had in Tyler, TX on June 3, 2024 at 830pm. Original service restored but a wire was left low across our driveway and street. We could not even get into our driveway because the wire was so low. Also before optimum bought out Suddenlink and Altice we would get a local person in Tyler for the call center. Optimum has offshored their call center. Also the call centers computers were working slow when I made a call about the internet issue.

Optimum service “help desk” is the worst I have ever experienced. Upon scheduling a transfer of service with a specific date, my cable & DVR were disconnected 10 days earlier than the move date. Optimum service “help desk” is the worst I have ever experienced. Upon scheduling a transfer of service with a specific date, my cable & DVR were disconnected 10 days earlier than the move date. I spent hours on the phone with the “help desk” being passed from one department to another with no resolution to the problem. “Help desk” personnel have accents making it difficult to understand their communication. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I have fiber internet. I don’t understand why my internet disconnects at least 3x a day. I work at home, and it’s terribly inconvenient. My streaming TV is affected too, of course, which is extremely frustrating. When I call to discuss, they can’t find anything wrong, so there’s no opportunity to improve.

Connection time is slow at times, and I often have trouble on phone calls.. calls get dropped, or I have to go outside and find a spot to stand to improve connection in order to continue a call.
