Xfinity provider overview

Xfinity is one of the largest cable providers in the country, providing broadband, TV and phone services to customers across the West, Northeast, Central and South regions.

With cable and fiber internet networks, plus home phone and mobile services, Xfinity gives you many options to get the quality services you need.

Xfinity has plans for 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1,000 Mbps, 1,200 Mbps and 2,000 Mbps, but speeds will vary based on your location.

Xfinity offers no-contract internet plans, with some TV and bundle plans including contracts. Xfinity offers one- and five-year deals on internet. The one-year deals are cheaper, but you can choose to lock in your deal for a longer period at a higher price. Xfinity also has an equipment fee of $15.00/mo.

Xfinity has a wide range of bundle options available and offers some of the best bundle discounts, with $20.00/mo. off for each service you add, up to $60.00/mo.

Pros

  • New customers can take advantage of the Next Gen plans with a one- or five-year deal. Lock in your price for your time period of choice

  • Xfinity’s service availability stretches to over 20 million people across 40 states, making it one of the most accessible providers nationwide

  • You have the option to select an Xfinity no-contract plan so you don’t have to worry about long-term commitments or early termination fees

Cons

  • Xfinity plans can get pricey once you add on the cost of DVR and HD service. Be sure to watch out for rate increases of $30.00 or more once promotions end

  • Xfinity upload speeds will be slower and vary by your location

Xfinity is one of the most available internet service providers in the U.S., with cheap starting plans. However, fees can add up, and some plans require a contract to get the best price.

Our thoughts on Xfinity

Xfinity offers cable connections to about 40% of the country and fiber connections to less than 1%. Pricing is competitive, and Xfinity often boasts the cheapest price in some areas, starting at $40.00/mo. Xfinity isn’t as fast as some fiber providers, but select areas can reach speeds up to 2,000 Mbps.
