What to consider when bundling home phone and internet
Consider these factors when choosing the best internet and home phone bundle deals to maximize your savings and value.
- Xfinity offers the cheapest bundle at $45.00/mo., including unlimited home phone and up to 400 Mbps internet, making it a perfect fit for one or two people who like to check emails and browse the internet
- Our best bundle pick is Verizon’s bundle that combines 300 Mbps and home phone for $74.99/mo. For only $15.00/mo. more, Verizon offers symmetrical upload and download speeds and fiber tech. You also get to add one international country for free to your plan (the amount you get ranges from 30 minutes per month to unlimited)
- Upgrade your standard internet and phone bundle with a high-speed fiber internet plan. Combining fiber with your home phone plan can deliver faster call functions, greater bandwidth and less latency, to cut down on delays while speaking/receiving
- Keep your internet and phone bundle simple with VoIP equipment. Your standard internet modem/router combo will also work for VoIP service. Add a VoIP gateway, desktop phones or headsets to enhance your VoIP experience

Our approach: We determine the best phone and internet providers for you
When narrowing down our list of the top internet providers, we sought to highlight providers that are available to many people in different areas.
- We start by using the most recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) data to identify the top internet providers available to at least 5% of U.S. residents
- From there, we leveraged our own in-house technology to further accumulate availability, speed and pricing details for each provider
- Specific plan, pricing and service details were sourced directly from the providers, both via our professional relationships with them and their official websites
- Finally, we examined each provider’s attributes to identify its exclusive advantage over the rest. The result is our list of the best internet and phone providers in 2025
Why bundle internet and phone plans?
Phone and internet providers in your area may offer bundle discounts, but not all providers give markdowns for combining multiple services. Still, internet and home phone packages can be worth it when it comes to overall cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Here’s why:
- Bundling a home phone and internet plan may save you between $5 and $55/mo., depending on the provider
- For providers without bundling discounts, the main benefit is the convenience of dealing with just one provider and one bill for multiple services

Xfinity internet & phone: Best for international calling
Starting at around $45.00/mo., Xfinity is a good choice for internet and home phone with an attractive price point. The home phone service really shines, with one of the best international calling plans in the business. You can even add 300 minutes for under $10.00/mo. Xfinity’s bundle pricing can save you up to $15.00/mo. or more depending on your service choices.
What we like about Xfinity
-
Many bundle options – Xfinity offers quite a few bundle options compared to other providers. Besides internet and phone plans, you can also bundle TV services and security options with internet and phone
-
High-speed plans available – With Xfinity, you can pick from speed options from 150 to 6,000 Mbps, in certain areas
-
Significant savings – You can potentially save up to $15/mo. or more with Xfinity bundle options
Things to consider about Xfinity
-
Early termination fees – Not all Xfinity’s plans require a contract, but if they do, you may be charged if you want to end your service before the contract time is up
-
Equipment fees – Those can add up with Xfinity, sometimes up to $25/mo. if you want enhanced Wi-Fi

Frontier internet & phone: Best for no data caps
Frontier uses both DSL and fiber optic connections in the U.S., so depending on where you live, you may be able to get speeds up to 5,000 Mbps — some of the fastest in the country. If Frontier’s fiber plans aren’t available in your area, you might want to look into other providers before opting for a slower DSL connection. You can save 10% to 20% on your bill by bundling with Frontier.
What we like about Frontier
-
Great fiber internet and phone bundle deals – Plans start at $74.99/mo. for speeds up to 500 Mbps
-
No data caps – Regardless of your plan, there are no data caps with Frontier’s internet plans
-
Unlimited calling – Enjoy unlimited calling within the U.S., Canada and Mexico
Things to consider about Frontier
-
Slow DSL speeds – DSL phone and internet plans start at $74.99/mo.
-
Limited fiber availability – Although Frontier’s fiber plans are a great deal, they aren’t currently available in many areas

Spectrum internet & home phone: Best for availability
Spectrum’s internet and home phone bundles offer some of the best value around. A home phone from Spectrum is just $15.00/mo. added to your internet plan. So, for just $65.00/mo., you can get 500 Mbps* of download speed and a home phone line.
What we like about Spectrum
-
Great value – Home phone and internet bundles start at $65.00/mo.* with 500 Mbps
-
Wide availability – Spectrum has some of the best availability in the country, with plans available in 41 states
-
Gig speeds available – Spectrum offers internet plans as fast as 1,000 Mbps
Things to consider about Spectrum
-
Must bundle for home phone – Home phone service is only available as part of bundle
-
Price jumps – Although Spectrum offers a great promotional value, expect your bill to increase by as much as $30/mo. after the first year
*Limited time offer; subject to change; new residential customers only (no Spectrum services within past 30 days) and in good standing with Spectrum. SPECTRUM VOICE: Standard rates apply after promo period and if not bundled. Additional charge for installation. Unlimited calling includes calls within the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands and more. Services subject to all applicable service terms and conditions, subject to change. Not available in all areas. Restrictions apply. ©2025 Charter Communications, all rights reserved. Updated as of 06/30/25.

AT&T internet & phone: Best for DSL options
Like Frontier, AT&T’s internet plans are split into two types: fiber optic and DSL. Its fiber plans offer some of the best value of any provider — starting at 300 Mbps* of internet speed for just $55.00/mo.,* plus taxes (w/ eligible Autopay & Paperless bill). Unfortunately, you can only add home phone service to AT&T’s DSL plans. Plans start at $79.99/mo. with speeds up to 100 Mbps in some areas. You can save $5.00 to $10.00/mo. with an AT&T internet and home phone bundle. You can save more if you also bundle your DIRECTV service with AT&T.
*Price after $10/mo discount with eligible Autopay & Paperless bill (w/in 2 bills). Monthly State Cost Recovery Charge in TX, OH, NV applies. One time install chrg may apply. Ltd. avail/areas. Speeds based on wired connection. Actual speeds may vary. For more info, go to www.att.com/speed101. Updated as of 06/30/25.
What we like
-
Unlimited nationwide calling – AT&T’s home phone plan offers 25 calling features and unlimited nationwide calling
-
Higher DSL speeds – If you can only get DSL in your area, AT&T often has some of the faster speeds
Things to consider
-
Expensive DSL service – In areas where AT&T Fiber isn’t available, its DSL service maxes out at 100 Mbps. You can get a DSL internet and home phone plan for $79.99/mo.
-
Limited fiber optic – AT&T is currently only available in select areas of 21 states

Cox internet & phone: Best for plan customization
Cox doesn’t offer home phone service unless it’s part of a bundle with internet and TV as well. That means you’ll have a high monthly bill — Cox’s internet, phone and TV bundles start at $195.00/mo. You’re not getting much value for that price, either, with internet speeds at just 100 Mbps. Depending on which plan you pick, you can save $20.00 to $40.00/mo. when you bundle.
What we like
-
Multiple plan options – Cox usually has at least four internet tiers to choose from, so you can customize your bundle to fit your needs
-
High speeds available – Cox has speeds up to 2,000 Mbps in most areas, but you’ll pay a hefty price for that speed
Things to consider
-
Expensive – If you’re just looking to bundle internet and phone, these are some of the priciest packages around
-
Contracts required – Cox requires one- or two-year contracts on all of its bundles
-
Price increases – After 12 months of service, Cox will typically increase plans by $25.00 to $36.00/mo.
Expert tip: Go for a slightly more expensive plan for faster speeds
Although you might see some internet and phone bundles for under $50.00/mo., most households require far greater than the 9 to 10 Mbps they offer. Spectrum’s 500 Mbps internet and home phone plan for $65.00/mo.* or Verizon’s 300 Mbps and home phone plan for $74.99/mo.* will save you the most money in the long run.
*Pricing per month plus taxes for length of contract. Additional fees and terms may apply. Pricing varies by location and availability. All prices subject to change at any time. May or may not be available based on service address. Updated as of 06/30/25.

Internet and home phone bundle FAQs
What is the difference between landline and digital phone service?
Traditional landline phone service uses a copper phone line network. Digital phone service transmits a phone signal using an internet connection and typically delivers a clearer signal than traditional phone service.
Can I bundle cheap cellphone service with other services from that same provider?
Some providers, like AT&T and Xfinity, offer incentives for bundling wireless service with internet or TV. However, most mobile providers keep wireless plans separate from other services they offer.
Will my home phone & internet service affect each other?
Unless you have dial-up internet, you’ll be able to use your home phone and internet service without interruption. A dial-up internet connection cannot be used when a landline phone is also in use since both services use the same copper infrastructure in your home.
Do I need home phone for internet?
Aside from dial-up and DSL internet connections, which use a phone line to deliver service, you do not need a home phone for internet service. View our page on how to get internet without a phone line.
