Find West Virginia internet providers by city
West Virginia, the “home” that country singer John Denver longed to return to, was once known as a coal-mining state. But that industry’s fallen on hard times. Now health care is driving the economy, and that, combined with West Virginia’s natural beauty and low cost of living, makes it a great place to live. Internet service is growing to support technological advances as well, with speeds up to 1,000 Mbps available.
According to Ookla Speedtest data, the median download speed in West Virginia is 249 Mbps, and the median upload speed is 37 Mbps.

West Virginia internet customer reviews
Allconnect collects feedback from real internet customers across the U.S. to help you choose the best internet service for your home. Find out what West Virginia residents think about their internet providers below.
We have two people in the home working remotely. Our 400 Mbps plan is $82/mo. and we routinely test it at around 310 Mbps to 390 Mbps, which is perfect. No lag or other issues. We rarely have outages or equipment issues, but when I do need to call, Optimum’s customer service is very responsive.
5/5
EarthLink has decent Internet but what I don’t like is that they didn’t explain fully what their plans were. I mistakenly signed up for the essential plan, only 100 GB. It was used up in less than 10 days. I called Customer Service and was told that I could buy more GB, they also told me I could switch to a plan for 250 GB which I agreed to do. They also told me about their “unlimited” plan that had 300 GB. Why is there a plan that is unlimited with a cap on it. I was told that if I used all the GB that I would be able to buy more but if I didn’t, I would lose Internet service until it renewed again at beginning of next billing cycle…WHAT??? How is that unlimited???
2/5
Minimum hour wait to talk to any curtomer service. Claimed I would get 30 Mbps download and I got .002 basically unusable. Customer Service would keep saying but you are showing a stable connection when I called repeatedly to complain.
