How we review internet in Florida
Our methodology
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of one to five, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 290 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between three and four. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 500 Mbps plan got a 3.71.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.

Internet availability in Florida
According to the FCC, 100% of Florida has access to at least 100 Mbps of internet speed, but only about 57% have access to gigabit speeds. The fastest internet in Florida is fiber internet, but most fiber providers are concentrated in urban areas, while rural areas tend to have fewer options. Over 90% of Florida has access to a type of wired internet provider, but satellite is the best option for those in areas without cable, fiber and 5G options.
Nearly 90% of Florida residents can access cable internet, with less than half the state serviceable for fiber internet (46%). Fixed wireless covers 42% of the state, while DSL can be accessed by 5%.
While some areas in Florida lack affordable and reliable high-speed internet access, the state was allocated over $1.1 billion in federal broadband infrastructure funding from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment program (BEAD). This funding will help fund new internet infrastructure in unserved and underserved communities across Florida.

Florida internet customer reviews
Find out what other people are saying about Florida’s best internet providers to help you make an informed choice. Get peace of mind by knowing which Florida ISPs deliver fast speeds and great customer service.
The internet speed slows down various times throughout the day. TV freezes and buffers. I had to stop working from home because I was kicked from meetings many times, interrupting it.
3/5
Wish they had more internet providers. Spectrum is over priced for the services they offer. Not many options available when it comes to cable. If you add more services the price goes up immensely. Had ATT fiber optic and it was great and less expensive than Spectrum.
3/5
Great speed when the connection is good.
