There are more than 160 MLB games to watch during the season. Keeping up requires some dedication. While most sports fans pay for premium cable to stay on top of all the games, Sling TV could be a good cable alternative. To add Sling’s streaming service to watch local games, the playoffs and the World Series, you’ll need to sign up for Sling’s live TV streaming service. Here’s how to watch the MLB on Sling TV.

What Sling package do you need to watch the MLB?

Sling TV offers two packages — Orange and Blue. You can bundle the two to make sure you have multiple ways to watch MLB games.

Sling TV Blue

Most MLB games can be found on NBC’s Regional Sports Networks, which are available through Sling TV’s Blue service. The Sling TV Blue package costs the same as Orange but has a few extra channels such as FS1 and NBCSN. This is good news if you’re interested in more than MLB — you’ll be able to watch other kinds of sports with your Sling Blue subscription.

Sling TV Orange

You can also access Sunday night games on ESPN through Sling TV’s Orange service. As mentioned, Orange and Blue are priced equally but each provide content catered for a specific type of user. Watching your favorite MLB teams duke it out live is made easier through this service, but you might also consider investing in the Sling TV Orange + Blue plan for $45/mo. to make sure you have multiple ways to watch.

Does Sling require an add-on to watch the MLB?

Sling TV is well-known for all the add-ons available. The Sports Extra add-on may be worth the extra $5. You’ll have access to the latest Sling TV MLB highlights (commercial-free), as well as live games on the MLB Network on Tuesday and Friday nights. Also, the MLB Network Strike Zone is a great way to stay on top of the latest standings, stats and scores all season.

What devices do you need to watch the MLB on Sling TV

Like most streaming services, Sling TV MLB games can be watched in different ways. Supported devices include:

  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Amazon Fire devices

Do you need an app?

How to watch the MLB on Sling TV step-by-step

Watching the MLB on Sling TV is pretty straightforward. Here’s how to stream your favorite game:

  • Step one: Sign up for the Sling TV free trial.
  • Step two: Log in to your account.
  • Step three: Search for a Major League game.
  • Step four: Select the game and watch.

To sum it up

If you’re interested in watching many of the MLB games for the season at a lower price than you’d typically pay with a cable subscription or other premium streaming services, Sling TV is a good option. At $30/mo. plus the add-ons of your choice, it can’t be beat. You’ll give up on some perks other streaming services have to offer, such as fuboTV’s 4K resolution games or the large number of channels from YouTube TV, but you’re also saving half the cost.
