The Walt Disney Company’s popular streaming service Disney Plus is one of the top video-on-demand (VOD) apps on the market. With it, you can watch all your favorite Disney classics along with Marvel and Star Wars movies and shows all in one place. So, if you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or any of Disney’s other entities, then Disney’s streaming app won’t disappoint.
You can start watching for free today with a Disney Plus free trial. There are also a few Disney Plus deals that you can take advantage of with your Disney Plus subscription. Keep reading to learn more about how you can save.

Disney Plus free trial
Disney Plus only offers one plan. This means you’ll be able to enjoy everything Disney Plus has to offer for one affordable price.

How does it work?
When you sign up for Disney Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to try out its service for a week. Simply provide your email and payment method, and from there, you’ll get seven days for free. If you’re not happy with Disney Plus by the end of your free week, cancel your subscription and you won’t be charged.
Must you provide your payment information to begin a free trial? The short answer is yes. Once your free trial period is up, you’ll need to pay for a subscription to continue watching.
Who is eligible?
Everyone over the age of 18 is eligible for a Disney Plus free trial. But, as noted above, once your free trial is up, you won’t be able to sign up again for free.
Price after free trial
Once your trial period is up, Disney Plus’s price is $6.99/mo. This is an affordable price compared to many of the other streaming services out there. Let’s see how Disney Plus stacks up against other niche services.
CBS All Access starts at $5.99/mo. But, if you want an ad-free experience like the kind you get with Disney Plus, you’ll need to pay $9.99/mo. Sundance Now, Sundance’s app that focuses on indie filmmaking, costs $6.99/mo. And the sporting app DAZN is priced at $19.99/mo. — a bit more expensive, but at least it covers pay-per-view (PPV) expenses.
Who is it best for?
Disney Plus is best for families of any size.
Obviously, you don’t need a family to enjoy Disney Plus. But, if you have kids, there are a lot of features that’ll appeal to you. You’ll also have preferential access to Disney’s coveted vault, the MCU, Star Wars programs and tons of exclusive shows like The Mandalorian.
Disney Plus offers one free year for Verizon customers.
If you have the Verizon Wireless unlimited data plan, you’re eligible for a free year of Disney Plus. Want to learn how? More on that below.
Pros and cons
- Disney Plus is ad-free, which is perfect for keeping the kids occupied
- You can create up to seven profiles
- Disney Plus lets you watch on up to four screens simultaneously
- The Disney Plus library doesn’t include every Disney classic
- Even though there are many 4K titles, not every episode and movie is available in 4K
- Disney Plus may have the most Disney-owned content, but its library is still limited in size

Disney Plus bundle
Disney Plus offers one of the best deals in all of streaming. For just $12.99/mo., you’ll receive Disney Plus, ESPN+ and Hulu. To give this price point some perspective, Netflix’s premium plan is $15.99/mo., and HBO Max is $14.99/mo. So, by comparison, you’ll get three services for less than two of its major competitors. Unfortunately, the Disney Plus bundle doesn’t offer a free trial period.

How do I get Disney Plus through Verizon?
If you’re someone who has an unlimited plan with Verizon Wireless, you may have free access to Disney Plus for one year.
To get Disney Plus, log into your Verizon account. If you have the app, then simply open it. You may have already received a notice about the Disney Plus deal. If not, click on Plan from the top menu and then select Add-ons and apps. From there, you’ll need to navigate to the Entertainment tab, find and click Get Disney Plus.
Please note that this offer may not extend to you if you have a business or prepaid account. If you’re part of a plan where you’re grandfathered in, then you may also not be eligible.
What are the top Disney Plus shows?
The Disney Plus library carries not only old classic shows like Duck Tales, but also a few exclusive Disney Plus originals. These originals and continuations include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. There are far more scripted shows and docuseries scheduled to be released throughout 2020 and beyond. It goes (almost) without saying that The Mandalorian is the top show on Disney Plus. But there are also a ton of others like Marvel Runaways, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Raven’s Home, The Simpsons and many more.
