Everything you need to know about the Disney Plus and Verizon bundle

Sep 30, 2020 — 5 min read

At Allconnect, we work to present quality information with editorial integrity. While this post may contain offers from our partners, our opinions are our own. Here’s how we make money.

The Disney Plus on-demand streaming service launched in November 2019, bringing viewers a huge library of movies and TV shows from across the various Disney content houses. This includes a whole host of entertainment from the likes of Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars.

The Disney Plus Verizon Bundle gives Verizon wireless and internet customers free access to the streaming service for either six or 12 months depending on the plan you choose. The Verizon cellphone plans eligible for this bundle are Verizon Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited and Start Unlimited. However, business account holders are not eligible to sign up for the Verizon free Disney Plus service. On the home internet side, new customers who switch to Verizon Fios or 5G internet are eligible for the deal.

We will review the Disney Plus and Verizon bundle to provide more information on who can apply, how much it costs and the content available to customers. For more information about Disney Plus, check out our review of the service.

Disney Plus and Verizon Bundle review summary

  • Free Disney Plus for six or 12 months
  • Watch 21st Century Fox, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars content for free
  • Offer is only applicable to Verizon Wireless and 5G Home internet customers

Disney Plus is one of the newest entries into the busy online streaming market. It offers a solid content library of 773 movies and 217 TV series, at the time of writing — it can’t yet compete with the likes of Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix in terms of quantity.

However, the free Disney Plus Verizon offer is well worth it for Verizon wireless and home internet customers. The Disney Plus content library is home to movies and TV shows from content houses like 21st Century Fox, Marvel, Pixar and the entire Star Wars franchise, which should ensure there’s something for all the family to watch. Outside of this, the service doesn’t offer a huge amount of content in comparison to other streaming services in the marketplace.

Disney Plus and Verizon Bundle pricing

Disney Plus regularly costs $6.99/mo. but is, of course, free to Verizon customers with an unlimited cellphone plan and home internet customers for six or 12 months. Disney Plus currently only offers one package to customers. This provides content in up to 4K video resolution, provided viewers have a 4K ready TV and a 4K capable streaming device. The service also allows users to watch on up to four simultaneous streams. And Disney Plus customers can download content to their mobile phones to watch when they are offline.

User experience and navigation

Disney Plus is home to plenty of content from across the various Disney brands. But it does not include every title in the company’s catalog of movies and TV shows. It is for this reason that the service gets an Allconnect rating of 2.2 out of 10 for TV show choices and 4.1 out of 10 for movie selection.

That said, the service does offer a strong library of movies and TV shows. It is the only streaming service to offer every episode from all 32 seasons of The Simpsons. Other popular TV shows available on Disney Plus include High School Musical: The Series, Smart Guy, So Weird, That’s So Raven and Wicked Tuna. Disney Plus is also home to several Marvel TV series such as Avengers Assemble: Assembly Required, Future Avengers, Inhumans, Iron Man and Wolverine and the X-Men

Disney Plus also offers a selection of original programming for subscribers to enjoy. This original content earns an Allconnect score of 7 out of 10. This includes Star Wars offshoot series The Mandalorian, as well as titles such as Encore, Lady and the Tramp, Short Circuit, The World According to Jeff Goldblum and Togo.

Disney Plus and Verizon bundle other features

Disney Plus provides solid navigation and presentation, which earns it a user experience Allconnect score of 7.1 out of 10. Its web browser uses a simple layout with its most popular content organized into clear menus, as well as rows broken up into categories like Hit Movies, Originals and Trending.  Users can also navigate content by actors, category, genre and title. They can also build personal watchlists.
