Comcast’s Xfinity bundles reviewed
Xfinity bundles are some of the cheapest on the market, especially if you don’t need a lot of TV channels. Even when upgrading to their standard TV package, Digital Starter, monthly costs are still relatively low, starting around $70/mo. For comparison, lowest pricing for other major TV and internet providers including AT&T, Cox and Spectrum is between $80 and $90/mo. Take a look at some other pros and cons of Xfinity bundles below.
What we like
Lots of options – Xfinity offers up to six internet plans, three TV packages, plus home phone and security in most locations, and allows you to build your bundle with the services you need.
Bundle discounts – Enjoy monthly savings of $10 or more per Xfinity service in your bundle.
X1 TV device – Xfinity’s top DVR device, X1, is available when you bundle Xfinity internet and TV.
Things to consider
Contracts – Not all Xfinity plans come with a term agreement, but some may require one in order to get the lowest pricing.
Equipment fees – You can expect router and DVR rental fees from any provider, but Xfinity’s are a touch higher than most.
Price increases – After the promotional pricing period is over, your Xfinity bundle price may increase by as much as $30/mo. or more.

Our take on Xfinity internet
With more than 33 million broadband subscribers in 39 states, Xfinity is the largest internet provider in the U.S. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best around — it’s often just the most available. Xfinity scored around average in every category of our evaluation.

How we scored internet providers
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of 1 to 5, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 180 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between 3 and 4. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 400 Mbps plan got a 4.16.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.
Learn more about our methodologyWhat added fees should you expect with Comcast’s Xfinity bundles?
Added fees come with nearly any TV and internet provider, and Xfinity is no exception. Aside from the standard taxes and fees that are applicable to all providers, such as a broadcast fee or regional sports network fee, there are a few fees to be on the lookout for with your Xfinity bundle.
- Internet equipment – The Xfinity router rental fee is $14/mo., or $25/mo. if you want premium Wi-Fi service. You can use your own equipment to save on equipment costs, but doing so will mean sacrificing eligibility for the X1 TV device.
- TV equipment – You can rent the X1 DVR device starting at just $5/mo. Additional TVs, however, will add $9.95/mo. per device to your bill. If you choose a DVR device other than the X1, rental prices start at $15/mo. plus $5/mo. for each additional device.
- HD technology fee – If you use your own internet equipment and pass on the X1 DVR, Xfinity may then charge an additional fee of $9.95/mo. for HD service.
- Early termination fee – Many Xfinity packages do not require a term agreement, but if you did sign one and cancel before it is up, an early termination fee may apply. Exact fees vary depending on the length of your remaining term agreement.
View our guide to Xfinity fees for more information about costs that can be added to your Xfinity bill.
Build your bundle from any of four Xfinity services
You can put together an Xfinity plan in a variety of ways, which is great for the customer who wants to customize their plan. Choose from standalone services, double-plays, triple-plays or even quad-plays with any combination of the four main categories below:
Internet
Choose from speed options ranging from 50 – 2,000 Mbps (where available), with prices that start as low as $29.99/mo.*
TV
Select a basic TV plan with 10+ primary networks, a Starter package with 140+ channels or go for the gusto with a full TV package with over 260+ channels. View our Xfinity channel lineup.
Voice
Choose from local, nationwide or international calling. Xfinity provides international calling to over 90 countries.
Security
Choose from two levels of home security with integrated video and smart home features. 24/7 professional monitoring starts at just $30/mo. when bundled.
As the largest cable internet and TV provider in the U.S., Xfinity covers many different areas. Depending on which Xfinity service area you live in, your bundle options and pricing could differ from the bundles listed above.
Xfinity bundle packages — Double Play
Xfinity double plays may include a combination of two of the following services: internet, TV or phone. You can choose from a cheap double play with basic channels and Performance internet, with speeds up to 100 Mbps, or get over 200 channels and faster internet speeds, depending on your needs.

Our recommended Double Play bundle deal: X1 Saver Pro
The X1 Saver Pro Double Play gives you more speed and channels for the price than most other Xfinity internet and TV packages. This is also the lowest-priced package that comes with a standard TV package featuring 140+ popular channels.
Xfinity bundle packages — Triple Play
Most Xfinity triple plays consist of either internet, TV and phone or internet, TV and security. Whether you choose voice or security to round out your triple play package, you will be saving at least $10/mo. by upgrading from a double to a triple-play. But, watch for price creep if you start adding in extras, such as additional calling features or add-on TV packs.

Our recommended Triple Play bundle deal: X1 Preferred Pro+
The X1 Preferred Pro+, while not the cheapest Xfinity triple play package, has the best value of arguably any Xfinity bundle. In addition to gig speeds, 220+ TV channels and phone service, this package also includes HBO Max and DVR service. For comparison, starting pricing for a similar package from Spectrum, with gig speeds, around 200 TV channels and home phone, is just over $200/mo.
Xfinity bundle packages — Quad Play
Xfinity quad plays include all the services below, you only have to choose what tier of each product that you prefer. A quad play is the most customizable type of Xfinity package, but it also gives you the most decisions to make when deciding on your options.
Bundle package | Starting price* | Download speeds up to | TV channel count | Voice | Security |

X1 Saver Pro+ Quad Play | $129.99/mo. | 600 Mbps | 140+ | Unlimited local calling | ✔ |

Our recommended Quad Play bundle deal: X1 Starter Pro+ Quad Play
The X1 Starter Pro+ Quad Play comes with gig speeds, popular networks such as AMC and TNT, along with home phone and 24/7 professional home security monitoring. This package comes with four top-quality services for a price that might get you only two or three with another provider.
Xfinity package deals and promotions
- $10-$30/mo. off your bill: For every Xfinity service you bundle together (internet, cable TV, home phone and home security), you will receive an additional $10/mo. off your bill. This means if you bundle two packages together, you receive $10/mo. off, if you bundle three packages together, you receive $20/mo. off and if you bundle four packages together, you receive $30/mo. off.
- Free Peacock streaming subscription: When you select any bundle package, you receive a free NBC Peacock Premium streaming service (normally $4.99/mo.). If you are a major fan of The Office or Parks and Recreation, this is a great deal for you.
Additional benefits of Comcast’s Xfinity bundles
Xfinity bundles come with reliable internet and TV service, but what else do you get? Here’s a look at some of the potential added benefits of bundling with Xfinity.
DVR and HD service
Get up to 150 hours of DVR service plus HD programming at no additional cost with select Xfinity bundles.
Equipment upgrades
The Xfinity xFi gateway router and X1 DVR device are available with Xfinity bundles.
Added services such as Netflix and HBO®
Select Xfinity bundles include a subscription to services such as Netflix, HBO® or SHOWTIME® at no extra monthly cost.
Xfinity Stream app
Another major selling point of bundling with Xfinity is the Xfinity Stream app. Xfinity Stream is included with internet and TV plans and allows you to stream your favorite shows from any electronic device, wherever you are. Xfinity makes streaming on-the-go even easier as you can download shows when connected to your Xfinity home internet and then watch them offline when you’re no longer connected to Wi-Fi.
Add a wireless plan to your Xfinity bundle
Technically, Xfinity Mobile is not included as an option with any Xfinity double-, triple- or quad-play bundle. You do, however, have to be an Xfinity internet customer in order to be eligible to sign-up for Xfinity Mobile services. Plus, you get an additional $10/mo. off your Xfinity internet bill by adding an Xfinity Mobile plan.
By the Gig and Unlimited mobile plans
- By the gig starting at $15/mo.*
- Unlimited data starting at $45/mo.* per line
*Bonus feature: Xfinity mobile phones automatically connect to Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots (there’s over 18 million!) so you can extend the life of your data plan.
After 20 GB of monthly data use, speeds are reduced to a maximum of 1.5 Mbps download/750 kbps upload, determined and applied on a per line basis.
*Pricing per month plus taxes for length of contract. Additional fees and terms may apply. Pricing varies by location and availability. All prices subject to change at any time. May or may not be available based on service address. Speeds may vary. As of 10/29/21.
Xfinity bundles FAQs
What is the cheapest Xfinity package?
The Xfinity Choice TV Select package starts at $39.99/mo.* and gives you speeds up to 100 Mbps and 10+ TV channels including locals. If you want more Xfinity TV channels, consider upgrading to the X1 Starter Pro Double Play.
Does Xfinity give a discount for autopay?
Yes. Xfinity offers monthly savings up to $10/mo. for customers who enroll in autopay and ecobilling (paperless billing). Note that this discount is often temporary and may expire after a term.
Does Xfinity offer discounts for seniors?
The Xfinity Internet Essentials plan starts at $9.95/mo.* for up to 15 Mbps. The plan is designed to give seniors and low-income households a low-cost quality internet connection. Xfinity does not offer discounts for seniors on their standard internet and TV packages.
How do I negotiate with Xfinity?
Current Xfinity customers should contact Xfinity customer service to negotiate better pricing or terms. If you are not in a contract, or your contract is set to expire soon, simply asking for a better Xfinity deal may get you lower pricing. You may also want to consider downgrading services for a lower price, or bundling services for a lower total monthly rate.
