What is the Xfinity Blast! internet package?

Xfinity’s Blast! Internet plan is currently only available in the Northeastern part of the U.S., with the highest coverage around Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, Washington DC, Maine and Connecticut.

In these areas, Xfinity Blast! will provide up to 800 Mbps for just $59.99/mo. This starting price includes a $10/mo. automatic payment and paperless billing discount and a two-year price guarantee with no contract requirement. After 24 months, the regular rate for Xfinity Blast in the Northeast is $103.95/mo. 

• The price for Xfinity internet service includes a one-year minimum contract agreement, but you can opt for no contract for $10/mo. extra.
• The Xfinity Blast! internet package includes 1.2 TB of data/mo., a free self-install kit and shipping so you can set up your connection on your own time.
• In addition to the monthly package fee, you will have to rent a modem and router. Xfinity offers an xFi Gateway modem + router in one for $14/mo. When you rent your modem and router through Xfinity, you will have access to 24/7 Xfinity tech support.

Fees and equipment 

In addition to the price listed above for internet service, customers will have to pay additional fees for equipment, installation and, when applicable, data overage fees. 

Equipment: Customers do not have to rent their Wi-Fi equipment from Xfinity, but if they do, it will cost an additional $14/mo. for the xFi Wi-Fi device or $15/mo. for Xfinity’s elite Wi-Fi service.

Installation: Xfinity charges $40 for professional installation but most of the time, customers are able to avoid this charge by opting for free self-installation.

Data caps: Xfinity imposes a 1.2TB/mo. data cap on its internet plans. Although it would take a lot of online activity to exceed this data cap, those who do will be charged up to $50 for that month.

(Zoom recommends about 4 Mbps upload speeds for group meetings, but if you have more than one person in the house on meetings at once, you might run into some buffering.)
