What is AT&T TV?

AT&T TV combines the best of over-the-top (OTT) and traditional TV services for an all-new streaming experience. Customers can enjoy the value and versatility of OTT service, plus the picture quality, equipment and channel variety you’d expect from a cable or satellite TV service.

AT&T began rolling out the AT&T TV service in select markets in late 2019. Once the service was deemed successful in these beta markets, AT&T released the new TV product nationwide in February 2020.

Now, the wait for AT&T TV is over. Streamers nationwide can choose from AT&T TV packages ranging from 75+ to 140+ live channels complete with thousands of On Demand titles.

What makes AT&T TV different?

AT&T TV is different from traditional TV subscriptions because of its state-of-the-art features, expansive channel lineup, customizable add-on packages and more. Here’s just some of the benefits of the newest AT&T service:

  • Available nationwide
  • Channel lineups with more popular channels included
  • Cloud DVR service with 500 hours recording time
  • Includes 4K streaming device and voice remote with Google Assistant
  • Use any internet service provider – no bundling required

So, what do you need to get started? One AT&T TV streaming device is included with your package, but you can add up to five additional devices for an added monthly fee. You’ll also need an internet connection with speeds of 25 Mbps or higher for the best experience. Bundle with AT&T internet for additional perks and savings.

Even if you are not in an AT&T area, or do not subscribe to AT&T internet for your home, you can still get all the benefits that come with AT&T TV. That’s right – even if you use a different internet service provider, you are still eligible to be an AT&T TV subscriber.

Common misconceptions about AT&T TV

AT&T has rolled out more than a few TV concepts over the years, plus they acquired DIRECTV in 2015. If you’ve had trouble distinguishing between the TV plans, you’re not alone. Here’s a quick breakdown of what each TV product offers:

  • AT&T TV NOW (formerly known as DIRECTV NOW): This streaming-only service offers seven different packages starting at $65/mo.
