AT&T internet review

Reliability, speed and virtually unlimited data

Reliability, speed and lots of data are some of the most popular features of AT&T’s internet packages. AT&T internet speeds can be trusted to maintain a steady connection while you surf, stream, game or work from home. Plus, AT&T boasts a 99% reliable connection* and offers speeds up to 1,000 Mbps, where available. AT&T Fiber and DSL plans come with either unlimited data or up to 1 TB (equivalent to HD streaming for over 11 hours/day), so you don’t have to worry about caps or cut-offs while you browse.

Free bonus features

AT&T internet plans come with a handful of perks at no extra cost, including:

  • AT&T Wi-Fi Hotspot network | Access 30,000+ Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide for internet on the go.
  • AT&T Internet Security Suite powered by McAfee® | Stay secure online with virus, phishing and malware protection.
  • AT&T Smart Home Manager | Easily monitor your home Wi-Fi network with this simple-to-use app.
  • AT&T technical support and customer service | Experts are available 24/7 via phone and online chat for assistance

While most internet providers offer service management apps and hotspot networks, many charge an additional fee. AT&T stands out by including these features in all plans.

Other AT&T features

AT&T requires customers to sign a service contract to lock in your introductory plan price. The good news is your bill won’t fluctuate unexpectedly for the contract’s duration, however, if you want to terminate your service early, you may be responsible for an early  termination fee.

Because AT&T plan availability varies by location, certain speeds may not be accessible in your area. Speeds can reach up to 1,000 Mbps in select areas for AT&T Fiber. Review plan options in your area to determine which speed is best for your household’s level of internet activity.

AT&T Fiber and DSL plans

AT&T offers two types of internet: fiber and DSL. Fiber offers faster upload and download speeds, plus certain plans have unlimited data. However, AT&T DSL is more widely available, and offers reliable speeds at reasonable rates.
