More details on the best internet and TV bundles
Xfinity – Best bundle savings
Most Xfinity customers have six internet packages and three or more cable TV packages to choose from. They can bundle them in any combination, earning Xfinity the best overall choice for cable and internet bundling. In most service areas in the Eastern U.S., your bundle discount will be the same ($10/mo. off for each service).
Some areas, especially those west of the Mississippi, may find that Xfinity bundle pricing and discounts vary, but you can still expect to save around $10 for each bundled service, and sometimes more. Xfinity provides coverage to parts of 40 states in the West, Midwest, the South and Eastern regions of the country.

Our methodology
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of one to five, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 180 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between three and four. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 400 Mbps plan got a 4.16.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.
Should you consider bundling TV and internet?
If you like the convenience of one monthly bill including your internet and TV services, bundling is a great option. Not all providers that offer TV and internet packages will save you money by combining them, but it’s always smart to check that option as even a few dollars every month will add up to some savings.
The choice of packaging your TV and internet services is down to what you want in each service and if you can get it with a preset bundle.
Pros for bundling
-
One monthly bill
-
Same company tech support for TV and internet
-
Possibility for a discount
Cons of bundling
-
Not always an opportunity to save money
-
Term agreements may exist for some bundle options
What to consider when bundling internet
Look over the internet and TV bundle you are considering carefully. Does it include a contract or data caps? Some bundled deals do. Also, look at the TV plan’s channel count. Some bundles may restrict access or include extra channels. Make sure you are getting the channels you care about the most.
Also, be sure to think about the speed you need for your internet activities. Consider how many people in your household are using the internet at once. The more people and devices connecting to your home network, the more speed you will need.
Satellite TV and internet bundles
In some areas, the best internet provider may not offer TV service, or vice versa. On the other hand, you may prefer the TV service of a provider that doesn’t have internet, such as satellite TV providers DIRECTV and DISH. In either case, there are still TV and internet bundles available.
Providers | Packages | Starting price | Download speeds up to | Channels |

CenturyLink + DIRECTV | 100 Mbps + DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT | $124.99/mo.* | 100 Mbps | 160+ |

Streaming and internet packages
Cable companies may have their own live TV streaming services or devices that you can bundle with internet. You likely won’t get the same savings and special offers with traditional cable and internet bundles, but these packages are a good way to get cheap internet and TV together.
Internet provider | Streaming provider | Bundle price | Included in bundle | Savings |
---|---|---|---|---|
Verizon Fios | YouTube TV | $122.98/mo. | Up to 300 Mbps + YouTube TV | $0/mo. |
Frontier | YouTube TV | $102.98/mo. | Fiber 500 + YouTube TV | $15/mo. |
WOW! | YouTube TV, fuboTV, Sling TV or Philo TV | Varies | Starts at 50 Mbps + choice of streaming plan | $0/mo. |
AT&T | DIRECTV | $124.99/mo. | 300 Mbps + DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT™ | $0/mo. |
FAQs on bundling TV and internet
The cheapest package we’ve seen is Xfinity Connect internet and Xfinity Choice TV. Since Xfinity offers $10 off for each bundled service, you can save $20 with this package combo. Connect is Xfinity’s cheapest internet plan, so you’ll have the most savings with Connect + Choice.
Verizon Fios Mix and Match bundles have great value. The 300 Mbps plan and Your Fios TV combo gets you 300 Mbps of internet and 125 channels for $125, which is cheaper than other internet and TV bundles that we’ve mentioned.
Yes. With certain providers you can bundle wireless phone plans with internet or TV packages. Traditional bundles include home phone instead of wireless; however, it may be possible if the provider offers wireless service to do a double or triple bundle with cell phone service. In some cases, you may even be able to do a quad bundle with internet, TV, home phone and wireless phone service.
No. However, if you want home phone, you can add it to almost any TV and internet bundle. In some cases, home phone is included at no extra cost. If you’re thinking about cutting the cord entirely, it’s also possible to get internet and home phone bundles without TV service.
Cox, Frontier, Spectrum, AT&T internet, DIRECTV, Verizon and Xfinity all offer no-contract options. However, if you choose a package without a term agreement, you may pay a higher monthly rate or you may not qualify for additional bundle features.
Not always. TV Bundle discounts don’t necessarily apply to all companies because their TV packages are only available as part of a bundle. Since there is no standalone TV pricing to compare the bundled pricing to, there are no identifiable TV bundle savings.
