The 2020 holiday season will undoubtedly be different this year, what with the continued coronavirus pandemic and social distancing requirements. While it may make getting to the stores a little more difficult this year, T-Mobile is one of the many companies gearing up blow-out Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
Beginning on Nov. 20, customers will be able to take advantage of this year’s Black Friday deals from T-Mobile. We also took a look back at last year’s deals to see how T-Mobile plans and phone deals have been structured in the past to compare this year’s slate of discounts.
2020 T-Mobile Black Friday deals
Starting on Nov. 20, T-Mobile’s Black Friday deals will be available to customers in the U.S. Here are all the devices you can get at a discount through the carrier.
Deal #1: iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 mini for free
- Requires an eligible trade-in and new unlimited data line
- Up to $830 value
This is the same promotion that T-Mobile’s been running since the new iPhone 12 was released, so it’s hard to call this a “Black Friday deal.” But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth taking advantage of. Here are the devices that T-Mobile is accepting for trade-in:
Up to $830 off iPhone 12, $730 off iPhone 12 mini:
- Apple: iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus
Up to $530 off iPhone 12, $530 off iPhone 12 mini:
- Apple: iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE 2nd gen
Up to $380 off iPhone 12, $380 off iPhone 12 mini:
- Apple: iPhone 6S, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE
Up to $230 off iPhone 12, $230 off iPhone 12 mini:
- Apple: iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3 GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone 1st gen
Deal #2: Free iPhone 12 mini for existing T-Mobile customers
- Deal available Nov. 25, 2020
- Requires eligible trade-in
This is a unique deal for T-Mobile — and any cellphone company for that matter. Starting Nov. 25, existing T-Mobile customers will be able to get a free iPhone 12 mini with an eligible trade-in. These types of deals are almost always reserved for customers who switch phone carriers. This is the rare case where T-Mobile is rewarding subscribers for their loyalty.
Deal #3: Buy one iPhone 11, get one free
- Join T-Mobile with 2+ eligible lines
- Purchase two new iPhones on monthly payment plans
- Receive 24 monthly bill credits totaling up to $700
This is also one of T-Mobile’s Black Friday deals that was already available. If you’re alright skipping on the very latest iPhone model, you can get an iPhone 11 entirely free — no trade-in required.
Deal #4: Free Google Pixel 4a with 5G
- Requires trade-in and new line
This is another “Black Friday” deal through T-Mobile that’s been available for a bit. Customers can pre-order the Google Pixel 4a with 5G ($500 retail price) when you trade in an eligible phone and open a new line. Here’s what T-Mobile will accept for trade-in:
- Apple: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus
- Samsung: Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
- Google: Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL
- OnePlus: 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
- LG: G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ
Deal #5: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G for $99
- Requires a new line
While this deal is only available to new T-Mobile customers, you won’t have to trade in an old phone to take advantage of it. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G usually retails for $700, but T-Mobile is offering it for just $99 this Black Friday when you open a new unlimited line. If you do have a device to trade in, you can also get $500 off most of the latest Samsung Galaxy models through T-Mobile.
The best T-Mobile Black Friday deals from 2019
T-Mobile had some of the most attractive offers and discounts of the 2019 season, so all eyes will be looking to see what types of goodies will be in store for us this season. These are some of 2019’s biggest deals for T-Mobile’s Black Friday sale.
T-Mobile really went crazy with the iPhone deals last year, offering deals on everything from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone XS Max. Instead of offering different deals for different phones, T-Mobile gave away a free iPhone model of your choosing when you provided an eligible trade-in and opted for its Unlimited service plan.
This deal was valid for the following models:
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
There were other Apple deals, too. With the trade-in of an eligible phone, T-Mobile gave up to $400 off the cost of a brand-new iPhone 11. It’s very likely that T-Mobile will structure similar deals for this year’s iPhone 12.
T-Mobile also gave special deals on its Samsung smartphones, giving the same kind of deal that we saw with the iPhones. Here, you could buy one phone and get another free when you signed up for new service or activated a new line. This deal was good for the following models:
- Samsung Galaxy S10
- Galaxy Note 10
- Galaxy Note 10+
T-Mobile didn’t forget about smartwatches, either. In 2019, T-Mobile Black Friday deals included steep discounts on Apple Watches and Samsung Galaxy Watches, the two competing models of the season. This year, the sales will probably continue with holiday sales on new models and closeout prices on older models and inventory.
Last year, T-Mobile had several deals to offer on its mobile service, and that’s likely to remain consistent this year. It’s common for service providers like T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless to bundle their services in with new technology, requiring you to either open a new line or transfer your service in order to benefit from the steep discounts on the latest phones and gadgets. If you currently have service with another provider or are interested in adding another line for a new member of the household, there’s no better time than Black Friday.
The T-Mobile deals we expect to see for Black Friday 2020
Last year, T-Mobile was all about the buy one, get one deal, so it’s unlikely it will stray too far to form. That means possible BoGo deals on all of this year’s hottest cell phones, as well as possible bonuses on tablets, smartwatches and more.
The iPhone 12 will likely garner some of the biggest sales, with T-Mobile offering its signature BoGo deals when you sign up for service or trade in an eligible phone. What also will likely be popular is the iPhone 11, which will attract more budget-conscious consumers in search of a particularly good deal.
Apple may be getting all the buzz with the new iPhone 12, but Samsung and LG will also have new models worthy of their own deals. In addition to Galaxy smartphones, there is also the line of Galaxy Watches that could carry noteworthy deals when you add a new line or purchase a new phone.
Where to find the best T-Mobile deals on Black Friday
Most T-Mobile stores will open at 8 a.m., but with coronavirus crashing this holiday season, T-Mobile is likely to launch its biggest and best deals online to keep everybody safe. If you plan on heading out to the store anyway, be sure to check your local T-Mobile store hours for holiday hours.
In the meantime, we’ll be updating this page with the latest and greatest deals as soon as they launch, so be sure to bookmark this page and pay us another visit soon.
The bottom line
Black Friday may look a little different this year, but with so many businesses taking a hit this year from COVID, T-Mobile is sure to come through with some pretty impressive deals. Already, the website is filled with all sorts of specials on everything from the new iPhone 12 to the Samsung Galaxy S20. With some already tempting deals out there, it only means there are some truly spectacular deals likely to come with the official T-Mobile Black Friday sale. We’ll be checking to bring you the latest, so check back with us regularly to get the latest scoop on the best holiday deals and Black Friday sales this 2020 season.
