The three largest internet providers in San Diego are AT&T, Cox and Spectrum.

AT&T covers much of the San Diego area with their DSL service, including Uptown, North Park, Brooklyn Heights, Stockton, National City, Paradise Hills, Coronado, Chula Vista, La Mesa and most of Old Town. AT&T’s fiber-optic internet is available to around 40% of San Diego residents, with coverage in select neighborhoods as well as parts of Chula Vista and Santee.

Cox is the major cable internet provider in San Diego with coverage throughout most of the city. Primary Cox service areas in San Diego include Mission Hills, North Park, Normal Heights, National City, Paradise Hills, Ocean Beach and Imperial Beach. Cox is also available in select San Diego suburbs such as El Cajon, Poway, Encinitas and Escondido.

Spectrum doesn’t offer much coverage within the city limits of San Diego, but does offer service in Coronado and surrounding communities. San Diego suburbs that may have Spectrum as their primary cable internet provider include Clairemont, Pacific Beach, Mira Mesa, University City and Carmel Valley.

Google Fiber is available in specific pockets throughout San Diego. The greatest chance for serviceability is in the Gaslamp Quarter, Columbia District and Cortez Hill. Even in these areas, availability is limited to specific blocks or even building units.
