Xfinity announced free upgraded cable internet speeds for more than 20 million customers nationwide.
According to Xfinity, plan tier speeds will now have 50% to 100% faster upload speeds than before, improving customers’ ability to upload large files or content online. The plan upgrades also include a few download speed bumps.
While not everyone will see these speed increases, about one in three households can enjoy the upgrade to their Xfinity plan.
Check out Xfinity’s new speeds below.
Xfinity plan | New speeds* |
---|---|
Connect | 150/100 Mbps |
Connect More | 400/150 Mbps |
Fast | 600/150 Mbps |
Superfast | 800/150 Mbps |
Gigabit | 1,100/300 Mbps |
Gigabit x2 | 2,100/300 Mbps |
*Speeds may vary by location.
Xfinity customers can rest assured that these upgrades will not increase their internet bills. These changes are simply being applied to a chunk of existing customers’ plans, with no action needed from the customer, reports Xfinity.
In addition to the speed upgrades, Xfinity also announced that new and existing customers can get a line of Xfinity Mobile Unlimited for one year when they subscribe to a 400 Mbps or faster plan.
