Texans enjoy a deregulated electricity market, which allows consumers to choose an electricity provider based on what matters most to them. One of the most important things to consider when selecting a provider is how the company treats its customers.
To help you make an informed decision when choosing your next provider, the Public Utility Commission of Texas publishes a provider complaint score card each month. These scorecards take into account six months of customer complaint data and rate each provider based on how many complaints they have received.
How to Read the Scorecard
The providers are listed in order or complaints received, with the providers with the least amount of complaints over the previous six months on top. Each provider is ranked from one to five, with one representing the lowest complaint rate possible and five representing the most. In addition to the current score, you’ll also be able to find each provider’s score for the previous month.
