Looking to save on your mobile plan this school year? Some of the top providers, such as T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T, offer student discounts on mobile plans, tech and more.
What should you look for in student cell phone plans
If you’re a student looking for a cellphone plan, there are a few things you should consider to ensure you’re getting the best plan for your needs.
Price
It’s no secret that mobile plans are expensive, especially if you only sign up for one line. But, if you take advantage of new customer perks, bundling discounts or student deals like the ones we’ll list below, you could end up with a plan that doesn’t make you cringe every time you get your monthly bill.
Data
Unlimited data is the main selling point for most plans these days, especially when you can get an unlimited plan at a discount. If you can find an unlimited plan that doesn’t break the bank, it can be well worth it especially if you’re going to school away from home.
Coverage
The big three phone providers, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, all offer the most optimal coverage that many look for. But if you opt for a smaller carrier, they likely use one of the big three’s networks anyway. So, don’t always assume you need the biggest carrier for the best coverage.
