New customers can get the Starlink Kit with dish, router and tripod for $249.

Starlink equipment

Starlink, the satellite internet division of SpaceX, recently lowered equipment costs from $599 to $249. The fee was temporarily set at $299 in a promo that ended October 6 and then fixed at $249.

The Starlink Kit includes the Starlink dish, Wi-Fi router, power supply, cables and a mounting tripod. The tripod works for ground-level installation. If a roof install is required, roof mounts are available to order.

Other optional accessories can also be ordered from your Starlink account and run from $38 to $199 for pivot or wall mounts, pipe adapters and additional mesh routers.

The Wi-Fi provider is best for rural areas or travelers with options that cost $120 for residential service to $5,000/mo. for mobile priority for maritime or mobile businesses. It has no long-term contracts and offers a 30-day trial. If your address is serviceable, you should receive your equipment within two to three weeks.

Additional savings available

Starlink also provides a regional savings of $100 that is applied to certain areas with abundant network availability. The savings are only for residential service, and if you move to an area not under the savings plan, you’ll be charged $100.
