To help with the disaster left behind by Hurricane Helene, internet service provider Spectrum opened 90,000 out-of-home Wi-Fi access points last week in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina at no cost through Oct. 7.

The company also donated $1 million, including $250,000 in cash contributions and $750,000 in in-kind public service announcement (PSA) airtime, to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Spectrum provided tips to stay connected during storms or other weather events:

  • Customers can sign in to their accounts and update their notification preferences to stay up to date with any alerts.
  • The Spectrum Storm Center is updated with information regarding outages or other issues that may affect Spectrum services.
  • With the My Spectrum App customers are able to manage their services from a mobile device.
  • Spectrum Reach is providing clients with creative and messaging support to help them communicate to their impacted customers through its Right Message Guarantee that gives advertising partners the ability to quickly change their creative at no charge when there is a large-scale change in circumstances.
  • Spectrum also provides a Hurricane Supply Checklist to help customers prepare prior to a storm’s arrival.
