Since the summer, AT&T released fresh projections on 5G expansion as well as a new military and veteran discount for DIRECTV.  Plus, AT&T started offering new fiber internet deals in Atlanta and Charlotte. AT&T fiber internet deals in other cities and the DIRECTV and AT&T bundle deal have not changed. An update on AT&T Fiber deals

AT&T continues to focus on expanding fiber internet networks instead of 5G wireless networks like other internet providers, according to DSL ReportsFor instance, in mid-September, AT&T announced it was expanding fiber networks in Houston, TX.

AT&T has a special offer for residents in Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC. Until the end of 2018, eligible residents can get fiber internet with speeds up to 300 Mbps for $40/mo.* They can also get speeds up to 1,000 Mbps for $60/mo.* if they want even faster speeds.

An update on AT&T DIRECTV deals

This month, AT&T introduced a new DIRECTV discount for members of the military and veterans. Since AT&T provides wireless phone service, military members and veterans who already have a wireless phone plan can get military discounts on DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW. They get a monthly discount of $15 off DIRECTV or DIRECTV NOW service.

AT&T’s latest DIRECTV TV packages and plans mean more options for customers. DIRECTV offers 6 different channel package options, so you can find the right AT&T TV and internet plan for you.

An update on AT&T fixed wireless service

AT&T began testing 5G fixed wireless service in four trial markets. AT&T reported at the end of June that residents in South Bend, Indiana, one of the four trial markets, have seen peak wireless speeds close to 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) and latency as low as 20 milliseconds.

As of September 10, 2018, AT&T plans to launch 5G fixed wireless service across 19 cities. Some cities, such as New Orleans and San Antonio, could get 5G service by the end of 2018. Others may not see 5G service until 2019.
