At Allconnect, we work to present quality information with editorial integrity. While this post may contain offers from our partners, our opinions are our own. Here’s how we make money.
Mark your calendars because Amazon has finally announced that Prime Day is Oct. 13-14. Here is everything you need to know about Prime Day.
Who is eligible?
Anyone who has an Amazon Prime account will have access to all of Amazon’s special savings offers. According to Amazon, Prime members purchased a total of more than 175 million items last year on Prime Day. If you don’t have a Prime account but want to participate, you can sign up for a 30-day trial this month. As long as you cancel before your trial ends, you will not be charged the $119 for a year of Amazon Prime.
Does Prime Day happen every year?
Prime Day is an annual deal event that began in July 2015. The event used to be for only 24 hours. As of 2019, it’s for 48. While Prime Day is normally held in July, the event was postponed to the fall due to COVID.
Are there any early Prime Day deals?
While there will be more deals starting Oct. 13, there are actually a handful of special offers already available. For instance, when you spend $10 at select small business stores anytime between now and Oct. 12, you will receive a $10 credit that you can use on Prime Day. Similarly, when you spend $10 at Whole Foods Market online between now and Oct. 14, you will also receive a $10 credit that you can use on Prime Day.
Another great deal is that you can also purchase two Echo Dot smart speakers with Alexa for $39.98. These speakers are normally $49.99 each.
If you love books-on-tape, then you will be happy to hear that you can get $50 off your first year with Audible.
Amazon is also offering up to 40% off of their clothing brands.
What deals will there be exclusively on Prime Day?
You will be able to find deals in all the major shopping categories, including electronic devices, kitchen supplies, Apple products, cleaning appliances, gaming consoles, workout equipment and televisions. Although Amazon has not revealed what specifically will be discounted and by how much, chances are, if there is something you have your eye on, you will be able to purchase it with some type of discount on Prime Day. Typically, the most heavily discounted items are Amazon products; however, last year, there were also Apple products, such as MacBooks, Apple watches and iPads, available for 50% off.
If there is a specific item you have your eye on, we suggest getting online as soon as you can. The best deals run out quickly on Prime Day. Ready, set, shop!
