Digital television DTV is a broadcasting format that offers a viewing experience with crystal-clear pictures and sound. By law, full-power television stations nationwide must begin broadcasting exclusively in a digital format on June 12, 2009. If you use an antenna to watch TV on a set that has an analog tuner you could lose access to your favorite network programming unless you switch to digital.
