Do you have a move coming up in your future? Maybe you’ll be moving kids into dorm rooms in the coming weeks. If so, why not make your move as “green” as possible? It’s easier than you think. Try using environmentally friendly packing materials, such as newspaper rolled up into balls or recycled packing paper. Tear old cardboard into strips and roll it tightly around fragile items for extra security.  Whether you’re moving out or moving in, you’ll probably want to give everything a good cleaning. Try cleaning with “green” cleaning products, such as baking soda on a damp sponge to scrub the refrigerator and countertops without scratching them.  You can also buy environmentally friendly cleaning products that are biodegradable and non-toxic.  To leave everything smelling nice, try tossing a few orange peels down the disposal for a fresh aroma in the kitchen.  For more tips on how to have a “green” move, visit Reliant Energy’s information on “Greening Your Move.”
